The first winner of the recently–premiered "Global Cement Award" is being launched on the international cement market. A super-sulphate cement, Slagstar® 42.5 N C3A-free, has been developed at the cement production facility of Wopfinger Baustoffindustrie GmbH in Austria which is generally well known for its "Baumit" brand. The new cement, which is made from cinder sand, sulphate carriers and special additives, complies with the requirements of the European Cement Standard EN 197-1 in every point except its chemical composition. Slagstar 42.5 N C3A-free has been patented in more than 50 countries.
