The 9th International Symposium on High Performance Concrete - Design, Verification and Utilization took place on 9-11 August 2011 in Rotorua, New Zealand. It was the largest international conference of its type and significance ever held in New Zealand. The Symposium was hosted by the New Zealand Concrete Society and is a continuation of a series of symposia started in Stavanger (Norway) in 1987, followed by Berkeley (California) in 1990, Lillehammer (Norway) in 1993, Paris in 1996, Sandefjord (Norway) in 1999, Leipzig (Germany) in 2002, Washington, D.C. in June 2005 and Tokyo in October 2008.
