On completion in 2010, the Dubai Light Rail system will be the single largest, driverless rail system in the world. A key requirement for a the Dubai Light Railway – the mostly elevated 50 km of Red Line – was for an adhesive with which to bond the precast viaduct segments. BASF Construction Chemicals’ Segmental Adhesive Concresive 1441, an epoxy resin based bonding system, was selected after extensive testing due to its ability to meet stringent standards and deliver special advantage.
