For more than 50 years, Copel Engineering Industry and Trade Ltd., of Aracatuba, Brazil has served that country's southern states with precast concrete stormwater drainage products and installation services. Copel produces both round and egg-shaped reinforced concrete pipe, concrete block, pavers, and box culverts. The firm's customers include some of the area's largest contractors and municipalities. Copel was founded by Agnaldo Ferraz, who left the firm in the 1990s to pursue other endeavors, leaving the firm in the hands of his son Caio Ferraz Sr., Copel's chief executive officer. In recent years, a third generation of the Ferraz family, Caio Ferraz Jr., has joined the family business, ensuring continuity for the future.
