This paper presents the design of a folded plate dome, which was given the name Oridome due to its folded shape inspired by origami. For the realisation the new Oricrete design and manufacturing method was used, with which spatial supporting structures are manufactured by folding flat elements with predetermined folding lines. The concept was implemented for a prototype on a model scale. A method is shown for practical implementation. The concept of the Oridome won the first prize at the 5th TUDALIT architectural competition 2013 [1].
