The ninth article in the series "Increasing Productivity and Quality Management" is about a peripheral area of precast concrete production, namely the management of outdoor storage areas. In most factories, the outdoor storage area is managed manually. The finished parts are deposited in the yard. When a truck arrives, the delivery note is consulted and a search for the relevant parts is conducted. This article describes the specific requirements that precast concrete facilities have of a warehouse management system and the cases in which such a system is useful. As an example, Unitechnik’s warehouse management system known as UniWare precast will be described.
