A commercial plant production setting has been designed and developed to be a cost-effective method for high capacity production of concrete blocks. With a high compaction force applied during casting, the use of small amounts of soft crumb rubber particles (~10%) can easily distort and fill the voids between the solid particles in order to enhance the properties of concrete. It is also indicated that rubberized concrete paving blocks have higher ductility and ability to withstand post-failure loads which might offer great potential for it to be used as pavement structures.
