As one of the well-known builder’s merchants in north and north-east Germany, Ernst Schröder GmbH & Co.KG is represented by numerous building material centres throughout the region. In Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg there are Schröder specialist building material businesses and DIY stores in a total of 14 locations. In addition, there are a further four concrete works in Schleswig- Holstein, in which steel reinforced precast concrete elements (ceilings, walls, stairs, special parts), an extensive range of concrete goods for gardening and landscaping and also numerous products for underground construction and special products are manufactured. At the Heide concrete works Schröder produces, in addition to concrete pipes and manholes, mainly concrete blocks, kerbstones and general concrete goods. Schröder produces all the concrete goods from the Heide concrete works on two separate production lines. One of them was extensively modernised this year. In addition to replacing machine components on the dry side, the main change was the replacement of the old concrete block making machine. The Friesische Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG from Emden, Frima for short, was contracted to carry out the conversion. Among other things, Frima integrated the new Frima HP 800 concrete block making machine into the old production line. The Frima HP 800 is a new development which was only introduced this year and is now being used by a customer for the first time. Schröder also decided on a relatively new product when selecting the production pallets. The choice was for plastic production pallets from Tecboard in Siegen, who supplied 2,200 pallets to the concrete works.
