One of the biggest difficulties for ensuring quality concrete is accurate measurement of water/cement (w/c) ratios on job sites or in pre-cast production facilities before a pour. Using the latest microwave and microprocessor science, James Instruments Inc. has developed the Cementometer moisture meter to attain consistent and accurate w/c ratios on a job site before concrete is poured. Recent research shows that w/c ratio readings from the Cementometer have a highly accurate correlation with w/c ratios in ASTM test mixes.
