The lettering ‘Beuth Hochschule für Technik’ has graced the Luxemburger Strasse in Berlin since 11 June 2009. This 43 metre long work of art was created from 173 metric tons of fair-faced concrete on the campus hill in the centre of Berlin following a planning and construction period lasting ten months. The idea came from the President of the Beuth Hochschule, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reinhard Thürmer, the design from Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schäche and the moulds for these extraordinary shapes from Max Frank GmbH & Co. KG of Leiblfing in Bavaria.
