The International Symposium on Innovative Concrete Technology, which was organised by MC-Bauchemie, took place on 21 and 22 September 2010 in Bottrop, Germany. Over 130 invited guests from 18 different countries came together on these two days to report on the latest developments in their research areas and to exchange views. The lectures mainly focussed on the use of ultra-fine particles as well as polycarboxylate ethers (PCE) in concrete recipes in order to improve strength characteristics as well as durability and workability.
