Ruttura & Sons, a concrete pumping company based in Long Island, NY, gained the contract for concreting operations in a new development, costing USD 800 million, of the CITI Field Stadium for the US New York Mets baseball team. Nearly all of Ruttura & Sons’ fleet of concrete pumping trucks with spreader booms from 31 to 58 metres was engaged in this large-scale project. A noteworthy challenge, according to Tom Ruttura, were the 7,000 concrete steps – sometimes needing to be concreted under the already completed roof construction.
