The demands on transport infrastructure are constantly evolving and sustainable solutions are becoming increasingly important. In August 2023, an innovative modular bridge was built for the B173 federal road near Freiberg (Saxony): A project that broke new ground in bridge construction with precast elements made of carbon concrete and the innovative RubberElast® sealing tape. Today, another strength of this project is becoming apparent: the reusability of the precast elements. The bridge was dismantled at the end of November 2024 and prepared for reuse so that the precast concrete elements could be used in other construction projects. After releasing the clamping, the precast elements were successfully dismantled within a few hours. This was made possible by Hentschke Bau GmbH's focus on modern materials such as carbon concrete and advanced sealing technologies such as RubberElast from B.T. innovation GmbH. This approach impressively demonstrates how the use of modern technologies and materials not only revolutionises the construction process, but also opens up new avenues for a resource-conserving construction industry.
