In 1912, Mathias Bartlechner founded Haba-Beton, which has since become one of the leading suppliers of top-quality concrete products. Haba-Beton was an early advocate of automated technologies in the concrete pipe production process, such as with a Rekers system in 1989, which automated the storage and retrieval of concrete pipes using different kinds of manipulator cranes for pipes and base pallets. Over the years, automated systems with Rekers handling equipment were installed at several locations, including Garching and Großsteinberg. Continuous investment and expansion in the field of automated quality assurance was now followed by investment in a control system upgrade. The company’s technological development is set with the state-of-the-art Siemens S7 TIA control system.
