The Hamburg Deckel (English: Hamburg lid) is a noise pro- tection project of the city of Hamburg in northern Germany, in which the A7 highway north of the Elbe tunnel is extended by two lanes and comprehensive noise protection is created from tunnels and walls in the suburbs of Altona and Eimsbüttel. This also has a positive effect on urban development, as parks and allotments can be created on the loadbearing ceiling slab of the tunnel and districts can grow together. In the production of the prestressed concrete beams for the “lid” in front of the entrance to the Altona tunnel, the micro-polymer fiber Sika Crackstop Fiber from Sika Deutschland GmbH was used to meet the fire protection requirements.
