Concrete corrosion is a worldwide issue and with the focus on sustainability increasing in the construction industry as with all industrial sectors, then in order to increase the service life of concrete structures, prevention is becoming more important than repair. This article reviews the cost of corrosion, the mechanism of chemical corrosion, the options available for prevention and repair, and then intro- duces NitCal a simple molecule that is successful for inhibition of corrosion.
