Concrete block machines make use of vibrations to com- pact the concrete into the required shape. However, these vibrations not only affect the concrete, but also spread throughout the machine and the surrounding environment. In the machine, the vibrations create dynamic stresses, cause vibrations of machine parts, and lead to material fatigue. In the surrounding environment, they cause disturbing vibrations and noise, which in turn affect other machines and people and, in extreme cases, can lead to associated damage.
