Prefabricated element technology is gaining increasingly in importance. Investments in the construction industry in Poland, in particular in construction with precast concrete elements, are impressive. One example of this is the football stadiums for the 2012 European Football Championships. The stadiums are usually erected using prefabricated elements. The precast parts used include the steps and beams of the grandstands (crossbeams and raker beams), columns and filigree wideslabs. The number of elements supplied and the short delivery dates require a perfectly coordinated production flow and a great deal of logistical effort. The Pekabex company from Posen, a manufacturer of precast concrete elements, faced up to this challenge. Pekabex supplied precast concrete parts for the largest European Football Championship stadium in Poland – the National Stadium in Warsaw – which at the same time is also the largest football stadium in Eastern Europe.
