Building Information Modelling (BIM) is increasingly gaining in significance as a planning method based on digital building models for precast element planning, production, supply and assembly. The IFC4precast standard plays a key role in this – among other things, it enables error-free data transfer between the planning software of an architect’s office and design engineering office on the one hand and between the precast element planning software and the MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), or the production master systems, of precast concrete production facilities on the other. Cutting-edge planning software that complies with the IFC standard and thus enables a quality-assured data flow is therefore a decisive factor in the efficiency and success of precast element projects.
