Curing compounds can provide a sustainable alternative to the conventional wet methods of curing. However, insufficient knowledge about their performance often limits their usage in the industry. Most importantly, their effect on durability and shrinkage properties of concrete is of great relevance to precast and pavement industry. Taking this into account, this paper presents an account of existing specifications and preliminary experimental work on the effect of curing compound application on the durability and shrinkage behaviour of the concrete.
