Titanium dioxide surrounds us as the most frequently used white pigment in many everyday life objects. It is used in many construction products as well. Now the classification of titanium dioxide powders as potential carcinogen in the CLP Regulation was published on 18th February 2020. This plan was controversial for a long time, criticism was hailed by EU Member States, science, industry, and NGOs. How did this decision come about, and what consequences will it have?
