Precast architectural concrete façades belong to the top quality class in concrete construction. It is a branch in the precast concrete indus - try characterised by high workmanship, carefully chosen raw materials and strictly controlled equipment and execution. The production of architectural concrete façades comprises several steps: selection of the façade units out of the architectural drawings, manufacture of the units (moulds, reinforcement, concrete mix design, casting, hardening, surface finishing), transport, erection and installation of weathering joints. Each production step has a consequence on the final quality of the façade and should be executed with high care. In the following, the different steps are discussed in detail.
