For the construction of the Helmut Kohl Maternity Hospital Karapitiya, the German company Nuspl Maschinenbau GmbH from Karlsruhe supplied the complete production equipment for the required concrete precast elements. Following the tsunami catastrophe in December 2004 in Sri Lanka, the former German Chancellor Dr Helmut Kohl initiated the construction of a new hospital in the south of the island.
