Air content tester meets optimum requirements

… concrete The measuring device developed by (Klein, 1946) and (Tempers, 1948), amongst others, for determining air content according to Boyle Mariotte has been in use practically unaltered, except for small design variations, throughout the world for almost 70 years now. This author has demonstrated the weaknesses of devices found on the market, pointed out the lack of verification for the procedure in general as well as for the differing devices as regards their reliability and accuracy, and formulated requirements for an optimum measuring device according to ASTM C231 Type B and DIN EN 12350-7 (decreasing pressure load). (Bottke, 2016). The Super Air Content (AC) Pot meets the requirements derived from this for an accurate, reliable air content tester as regards the calibration of both pressure chamber and pressure gauge, increasing outlet pressure to 2 bar, cover made from acrylic glass, solid clamping, double scale for pressure and air content in %. This Super AC Pot also offers the design prerequisites for estimating the amount of micro-pores in fresh concrete, as is already practised in the USA.
