Up to recently, the range of hot-rolled toothed channels made by Halfen and Deutsche Kahneisen Gesellschaft (DKG/Jordahl) for anchoring loads in concrete has comprised the sizes 29/20 and 38/23. The utilisation and the loads authorised for these channels are regulated by building authority approvals [1], [2]. From March of this year, this range of approved anchor channels has been enlarged by the profile sizes HZA and JXA 53/34. With this new anchor channel profile, it is now possible to handle working loads of up to 22 kN (point load) in all directions. Numerous tests were carried out to determine their static and dynamic load bearing capacity with regard to this approval extension.
