Lanxess Deutschland GmbH, BU Inorganic Pigments, 47812 Krefeld-Uerdingen, Germany

In the world's largest production plant for inorganic colour pigments in Krefeld-Uerdingen, the special chemicals concern Lanxess manufactures iron oxide and chromium oxide pigments for many applications – and has been doing so for 90 years now. Whether in the paint on the Eiffel Tower in Paris, in the red asphalt in front of Bucking ham Palace in London or in numerous applications in concrete construction – pigments from Lanxess are used all over the world. What began in a small way 90 years ago has become a real success story: More than 13 million tonnes of pigments have left the plant in Krefeld-Uerdingen since the start back in 1926.
