Once again the Concrete Design Competition has produced many exciting ideas for building with concrete. 105 students from 37 German universities submitted their work for this year’s competition theme entitled “Metamorphosis”. “The wide range of results demonstrates in impressive fashion what can be done with concrete. While some participants worked on facade elements with thicknesses of a few centimetres, others designed huge offshore structures or revamped massive bunkers. There were also numerous elegant objects and solutions from the field of product design once again”, says Ulrich Nolting from the InformationsZentrum Beton, which holds the competition each year in Germany.
