In this article a new technology for concrete pressure pipes production is described that is suitable to be highly mechanized and automated. It is mainly distinguished by nonstop manufacture of spiral welded steel cylinders and by radial compression procedure (packer head system) to produce the concrete core of the pipes. This process enables to reach a very high production capacity. The pipes can comply both with European Standards EN 642 and U.S.A. AWWA C301, lined type. A detail of the joint is shown in Fig 1. The company Transaqua Societade Iberica de Tubagens S.A. has been recently established in southern Portugal (factory location 37° 57’ 4” North ; 8° 9’ 26” West), near the city of Beja – South Alentejo. The commercial production already started beginning of June 2011.
