The possible applications of prestressed hollow-core slabs with atypical cross-sections are evaluated in this article. The standard solutions currently on the market sometimes might reach their limits. Girder systems with long cantilevers that require new design solutions are often used in modern architecture. One way to meet this challenge is to change the typical shapes of the slabs and ensure consistent load trans- mission in the design. Various support system changes are proposed in the article and the associated problems are explained. Essentially, it should be determined whether the deviations from the traditional solution are appropriate and whether they could represent a new trend in precast construction.
