High standards of technical equipment systems, as well as meeting all requirements concerning health and safety protection, place great demands on any operator’s expertise in safety engineering when operating ready-mix concrete facilities (R-MCF). The same questions crop up again and again: what must I comply with when constructing an R-MCF; what points must I bear in mind as operator in its procurement and preparation, and what obligations and requirements apply to me as operator? These and similar questions and problems are increasingly being referred to the Federal Association of the German Ready-Mix Concrete Industry by its members. “CE Marking for Ready-Mix Concrete Facilities”, a manual of guidelines, has been developed to support this issue in cooperation with member companies, R-MCF manufacturers, control unit producers and the Industrial Mutual Accident Insurance Association for the Raw Materials and Chemical Industries. The result is a manual of harmonised guidelines, which also contains practical examples for application in companies alongside formal definitions and a description of stipulations.
