The Ochten-based Augustinus B.V. has undergone an impressive development since its establishment at the beginning of the 1990s. Having started as a one-man company, Augustinus is today, two decades later, the employer of around 125 people. The company’s main line of business is the processing of reinforcing steel into tailor-made reinforcements, which Augustinus produces to order for its customers. Augustinus is a specialist in the industry and supplies both precast plants and building sites. Beyond that the company has continuously expanded its range of products and services and now offers amongst other things complete solutions for foundation and basement construction. The range is rounded off by the company’s own fleet of truck-mounted concrete pumps, which can also be hired. In order to meet the constantly high demands and to be able to process customer enquiries more economically and faster, Augustinus is currently giving its reinforcing steel processing facility a comprehensive upgrade. In the first step, a complete plant from progress of Brixen has now been put into operation. With a mesh welding plant of the type M-System Evolution and an automatic bending unit, reinforcing meshes can now be manufactured fully automatically, individually bent up and made into three-dimensional reinforcement cages. In the next step, a straightening, cutting and bending machine from the MSR 20 2BK model series, likewise from progress, will shortly be installed.
