The second paper in the series "Increasing Productivity and Quality Management" addresses the question of how process reliability in production and thus the quality of precast can be improved. It is well known that an error is more costly the later it is detected in the production process. The most costly error is a hidden defect in a building’s construction which is only recognized years later. But a complaint from the construction site can also result in significant costs. If the error is already recognized in the factory, the effects are smaller, and if an insert has slipped before concreting it can be corrected immediately, causing virtually no damage. The goal of all quality assurance measures must therefore be to detect errors as early as possible. Another aspect of the solutions proposed here is the documentation of delivered quality. Thus, complaints are handled effectively and unwarranted complaints dismissed.
