This paper reports on two new developments designed to improve the performance and safety of roads and other heavy-duty pavements. The Innovative Paver System (IPS) utilizes a ‘tongue and groove’ locking and locating device incorpo- rated into each unit. Reflective pavers and kerbs have an integral, reflective, permanent and cost-effective form of surfacing which resist heavy trafficking.
