The earthquake that hit the territory of the Emiliano-Lumbardy plain caused heavy damages to constructions and buildings, mostly with industrial purpose, bringing out with devastating clarity the extreme vulnerability of industrial prefabricated buildings, for whose design any seismic criteria were not taken into consideration even for the fact that these territories were not considered as seismic areas.
