It often seems as if some of those who are involved in carcass construction regard reinforcement as a nuisance or, at best, a tolerable necessity. At the same time, steel reinforced concrete relies on the reinforcement as the "soul of the concrete". This picture has been affected not least by the developments in placement. What happens is determined by the technical requirements and price, but these are diametrically opposed to one another. New classifications / grades were introduced with the "new" DIN 1045- 1, which has been in existence since 2001 and in force since 1st January 2005 – Ductility Classes A (normal) and B (high). These can lead to even more confusion.
