The ICCX Cape Town will be held in South Africa from 14 – 16 February 2007 and feature a large trade fair on concrete technology and a comprehensive conference programme on the topics of concrete technology, production and application. The location was chosen to support and take part in the immense building and construction boom the country is currently experiencing. The 2010 FIFA world cup in South Africa will be a first time this event is held on African soil. Great efforts are under way to extend the country’s infrastructure for 2010 and provide facilities to welcome and accommodate the expected 1 million overseas visitors. Massive construction projects are planned for the coming years, including building of new sport stadiums and upgrading of existing sport facilities, extension of airports, constructing hotels, parkades, shopping centres, and offices.
