The 7th CANMET/ACI conferenceon concrete durability

Canada Centre for Mineral and Energy Technology and American Concrete Institute

The 7th CANMET/ACI conference on concrete durability took place in Montreal, Canada, from June 28 to May 3, 2006. In total, more than 100 papers were presented in the broad fields of concrete deterioration, durability, and service life prediction. During the conference, special sessions were held on subjects relating to sulphate attack on concrete and high-performance lightweight concrete. The issue of durability is still one of the most important in the concrete industry. Most concrete design and construction practices today are still strength-driven. However, with the increasing number of structures needing repair, more attention is being paid to durability in most parts of the world.
