ALEXA is the name of the shopping and leisure centre on Berlin Alexanderplatz which is expected to open its doors to visitors in the autumn of 2006. Part of the construction work on this architectonically ambitious complex includes completely redoing the underground mains systems including water, sewage, power, remote heating, gas and telecommunication lines, all of which have been removed from the construction site itself to Alexanderstrasse which borders the site.
