Load transmission for manholes made from precast concrete elements as prescribed in DIN V 4034 – 1 continually causes confusion due to the large number of possibilities. On one hand, this load transmission can be achieved via the permitted mortar layer between the manhole components and, on the other hand, prefabricated elements are permitted for safe and economic building site procedures. Due to the enormous developments in the field of manhole seals and load transmission elements, it is becoming more and more difficult for the tendering engineer and the client to decide on the correct system for the respective purpose.
