The birth of the bear trap lifting equipment started in 1997 when a customer came to Creative Steel, Inc., with a crude example and ideas for an attachment to move manhole sections. After reviewing the example Creative Steel made improvement suggestions, then built the required amount of units for the customer. For the next few years there were improvements made to the device but the original customer was the only one using the product.
