GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete) technology for the production of precast building element has stepped forward through development and industrialization of existing manufacturing processes (spray and premix systems) with new mix design formulas, new design and production methodology of façade elements. Furthermore, by setting up a new process (extrusion system) mass low cost production of façade elements is now possible and by use of new materials (TX-Active) it is now easily possible to achieve both architectural and ecological solutions. After a general description concerning the GRC technologies, application and the TX-Active® principles, the first significant examples of this new material are presented in this paper (Residence St. John’s Court, Montecarlo, and a commercial building near Milan, Italy).
