The manifold commitment of Austrian enterprises also shows in the precast industry. From 2005 to 2008, the association of Austrian precasters (Verband Österreichischer Betonfertigteilwerke, VÖB) is chairing BIBM, the international precasters’ association. In May 2008, the association’s congress taking place every three years will be held in the congress centre of Vienna’s Hofburg. Core themes of the congress will be discussions on sustainable construction, market developments with particular emphasis on Eastern Europe, but also future perspectives of the industry regarding production and application engineering and technologies.
