The international concrete industry currently experiences a time of major changes in codes and specifications and the general trend follows an internationalization of standards for concrete structures. In a series of 3 papers, CPI discusses these developments. Part 3 discusses the new fib Model Code, which is expected to be published in 2008 and which holds significant changes in comparison to the current version (fib Model Code 1990). Major changes comprise consideration of new types of concrete and additional design requirements, such as durability, sustainability, and life-cycle design.
