The Ghatghar Pumped Storage Scheme is a hydraulic power electricity generation project sponsored by the Irrigation Department, Govt. of Maharashtra, India. It is made up of two reservoirs of different heights. The upper basin consists of three dams: two saddle dams and the upper dam. The lower dam forms the lower lying basin. In November 2001, Patel Engineering, Mumbai, was awarded the contract for the project. EPDC, Japan, are the project’s chief architects in conjunction with Tata Consulting Engineers, India und Malcolm Dunstan and Associates (MD&A), UK.
