The Sika Group unveiled their new SikaCrete Speed concrete additive to the press in Paris, France, on 5th October 2010. The product is aimed at significantly accelerating strength development in concrete. SikaCrete Speed – a mineral additive – is added to concrete during the mixing process and, in conjunction with a high-performance superplasticiser (Sika ViscoCrete Speed) and an activator (Sika Speed), promises formwork stripping times of up to 3 hours. The product was primarily developed for the precast industry to shorten working cycles and an increase in efficiency.
