Scale-Tron’s RadarTron and MixTron microwave moisture sensors for aggregate bins and mixers have been upgraded with a new user interface that eliminates the non-computer person’s difficulties in setup and calibration. It replaces the older arrangement of self-contained menus which required Hyperterminal software, present in Windows XP but not in newer operating systems. After studying where people had the most difficulty, Scale-Tron’s software team realized that “Plug and Play” had to be taken to a new level for acceptance by concrete technical personnel. The result is a software application that runs on any Windows computer and achieves the company’s objectives, claims company president Robin Shepherdson.
