Lower cement consumption thanksto modern compaction technology

Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH + Co. KG, 74185 Weinsberg, Germany

Vollert and Weckenmann has always been a pioneer in the development of concrete compaction in precast factories. Up until the beginning of the 1990s, expensive sound insulation chambers and elaborate construction measures were still necessary for compaction stations on account of the high noise emissions. The high frequency vibrators and vibrating tables with hydraulic cylinders that were the norm at that time generated noise levels of between 95 and 115 dBA. In addition, the hydraulic vibrating tables, with around 100 oscillations per minute, did not produce optimum results. However, gravel pockets and air bubbles must be prevented in order to be able to achieve consistency in compliance with standards and the required compressive strength. Only in this way can high quality surfaces and edges with the fewest possible pores be achieved.
