More than 120 participants showed their interest by coming to a conference for VDB regional groups 8 and 10 hosted by Maschinenfabrik Eirich in Hardheim (Germany) in July 2009. The programme included both very lightweight concretes (aerated concrete) as well as ultra-high strength concrete. The regional groups’ chairmen concluded that, all in all, the event had been a success. The participants at the specialised conference, with guests from as far afield as Belgium, The Netherlands and Switzerland, were enthusiastic about the professional reports from the speakers. More than 90 visitors signed up for a subsequent tour of the Eirich manufacturing premises. Expert employees from Eirich elaborated in small groups on the facilities in the pilot plant, the manufacturing and assembly of smaller and larger mixers plus the construction of control units and their testing bay.
