Approx. 1 hour from Muscat, the new industrial area "Samail Industrial Estate" was designated in 2010. The PEIE (Public Establishment for Industrial Estates), which has been responsible for the planning, construction, administration and development of industrial areas throughout Oman since 1993 by Sultan Decree, is responsible for the country's industrial development. Since then, the appropriate infrastructure has been gradually created on an area of about 7.5 km² in order to attract a large number of investors who want to expand in the strategically located industrial area. The Samail Industrial Estate has been divided into several sectors for specific industries such as plastics, steel, marble, building materials or food.
