Maximo – a new fully prefabricated shopping centre in Rome-Urbe, Italy

Generale Prefabbricati SpA, 06132 Ellera Scalo – Perugia, Italy

Generale Prefabbricati Spa, an Italian leader in projecting, producing and marketing prestressed hollowcore flooring and prefabricated ele- ments both in concrete and prestressed concrete, is developing a new mall center in Roma, the “Maximo”. The project, which is innovative thanks to its frame structure resistant to seismic action, was presented during the annual IPHA (International Prestressed Hollowcore Association) conference in Istanbul on May 2014. The project won the Terry Treanor Award as most innovative and ambitious project of the year. Its design has been entirely developed inside the Group, and its structural elements produced within two of the three company’s pro- duction sites located in Italy, respectively in the district of Perugia (Umbria) and Chieti (Abruzzo). Its third production site is located in Piemonte, in the Alessandria province. The Group can count on the partnerships with an Italian leading General Contractor in GED Prefab- bricati, whose establishment is in the Emilia Romagna region, and the fully owned sister company Edil Beton Perugia Spa, based in Perugia in the Umbrian region. In particular, the latter is among the Italian leaders in the production of GFRC - Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete, having realized facades across the World over the last 40 years. Such geographic distribution of the production guarantees the presence and the intervention of Generale Prefabbricati Spa throughout the whole Italian peninsula, the French region of “PACA” (Provence – Alpes – Cote d’Azur) and Switzerland with a production capacity of more than 500.000 m2 of hollowcore slab “Spiroll”.
